Did you realize that the boat front and center on the cover of the ACBS Directory is NC/LT Chapter’s own, Klondike? Owned by and winner of the 2015 ACBS International’s “Overall Best Restored” award, Paul Anderson’s Klondike, a 1938 Chris Craft 25’ Clipper, is a star!
Winner of numerous awards since 2010, Klondike has caught the eye of judges from coast to coast. Since her restoration in 2010, through 2015, she has won 1st place in her class each time at multiple shows across the nation, 1st Place Antique Cruisers Restored (twice), Best of Class Antique Restored, and Overall Best of Show, all at ACBS Annual Meeting and Boat Shows, with the last award giving her center stage on the cover of the Directory! Paul and Bobbi have made four trips across the country towing Klondike each time. They’ve been to shows in Bay Harbor, MI, Geneva Lake, WI, Table Rock Lake, MO, Lake Minnetonka, MN and Gull Lake, MN. At home, Klondike has won Overall Best of Show over 23’ at the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation Concours d’Elegance, and First in Class, Cruisers at the South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic.
A new award is on the horizon for Klondike. This year is the first year that ACBS International will be giving the “Diamond Circle Award” and Klondike is in the running. The award is open to any boat that has won Best of Show Preserved, Restored, or Non-Wood in the previous five years. Paul and Bobbi tell everyone that if it weren’t for Dave Lobb and “Rudy” Rudloff, who restored her, and Norm Kitching, who rebuilt the engine, Klondike wouldn’t have won all the awards she has. Come to the International Meeting and Boat Show at Lake Tahoe in September and be there to cheer on Paul and Bobbi!
