March 11 – 12, 2016 will be the 12th Restoration Workshop put on by our Chapter! The first was at Sierra Boat Company and the 12th will be there again!
Come join us along with Herb Hall and his crew on Friday and Saturday, March 11th & 12th, 2016 for fun, food, varnish and a commemorative shirt. In case we are snowed out, backup dates of April 22nd & 23rd are being scheduled. Herb’s team will lead another hands-on session including:
- Varnish and general re-finishing: We plan on utilizing a 1935, 36’ Hutchinson sedan for this demo. It’s a big boat so everyone will get a chance to practice. Be ready to do some sanding first! There’s more planned.
- Carpentry: We will go over the complexities of bottom replacement. There is no easy way! We will show you some of our proven methods and have a conversation on the pros and cons of various systems. And, more!
- Mechanical: Learn how to properly set and align your newly re-built engine & how to inspect your running gear before you start. Plus more.
- Q and A: Get answers from experts with over 100 years of collective experience.
A more complete description of what you’ll be learning is on the sign up page. This workshop will only handle 25 people, so be sure to sign up now to ensure your spot in a great educational and fun two days.
