Rosebud
II is a 1953, 24’ Greavette Streamliner.
We purchased her in
Bow Lake
,
New Hampshire
in January 2007. The Greavette Boat
Company was in
Gravenhurst
,
Ontario
,
Canada
and this boat was reportedly purchased originally by a Canadian oil
corporation. The man we purchased it
from bought it from a collector who purchased it from the original owner.
The boat hull and
interior was all original. This
spring we had Sierra Boat Company of
Carnelian
Bay
recaulk the deck in its original yellow and refinish the exterior varnish
completely. The chrome was replated
by Sherm’s Custom Plating of Sacramento.
At some point since
manufacture, the boat was repowered with a 305K Series, 225 hp, Thermocon Marine
engine.
Our first “woodie” was a ’55 Hacker which we named Rosebud,
after our Victorian home on the
Sacramento River
, which was named Rosebud Rancho when it was established in 1868.
Keeping with this tradition, our Greavette is Rosebud
II. We keep her at Lake Tahoe
where we enjoy frequent outings around the
Lake
.
