The Northern CA/Lake Tahoe and Southern California ACBS Chapters want to welcome you to join us at beautiful Bass Lake for the 27th Annual Bass Lake Antique and Classic Wooden Boat Show and Rendezvous. This truly wonderful event has created many special memories throughout the years and is guaranteed to be a very FUN and RELAXING weekend for all. The first in-the-water boat show for 2017 is on May 19th through May 21st, but if you can arrive a couple days early to Bass Lake, plan a side trip to enjoy the beautiful and magical views of Yosemite National Park only 17 miles away. With all the rain and snow that we have been receiving this season, the waterfalls will be amazing to see. What a treat it will be to have Bass Lake full again this year after the harsh drought that we all have had to deal with the last few years.
For the past 27 years the NC/Lake Tahoe & SoCal ACBS Chapters have met each year at Bass Lake to get together with friends & family to support the Bass Lake Lions Club and to see and hear some of the finest Antique & Classic boats on the west coast. With the lake level full last year, we had 33 boats in the show and this year it would be great to have 40 plus boats registered for the event. As a special bonus this year, we will be having a Hot Rod Car Show for all to enjoy over-looking Bass Lake next to the boat docks. Good Times!!!
Your weekend will start off Friday where you can launch your boat at your leisure. Use the boat launch at The Pines Resort Marina or by the dam just past Millers Landing on the other side of the lake. There is N/C to keep your trailer at The Pines Resort trailer parking lot above the Bass Lake Market and a $3.00 fee to park at the launch by the dam. There is a $10.00 in/out fee to launch your boat at the Pines Marina and N/C to launch your boat by the dam. Boat slip fees at The Pines Marina are $35.00 per night and Millers Landing slip fees are $25.00 per night. There is no charge to keep your boat at The Pines Marina Saturday night after the boat show thanks to the generous donation by The Pines Resort and The Pines Marina who are covering our dock fee’s for the boat show and our Sat. overnight boat slip fee’s at The Pines Marina. So if you are keeping your boat at The Pines Marina Saturday night, only pay for Friday night.
Friday at 6:00 pm is the SoCal ACBS Chapter annual Hot Dog BBQ at Millers Landing. Arrive by boat or car. This famous BBQ is held at the cabin just above the boat docks at Millers Landing and is a great time to visit with friends and family that everyone looks forward to attending. Bring a Salad or Desert to share and your favorite beverage and the SoCal Chapter will take care of the rest. Special Thanks to John Maddox, Bob Newcomer and Millers Landing for setting up this great BBQ for everyone to enjoy.
Saturday morning will begin with coffee, juices, doughnuts, pastries and other breakfast treats to start off your day at 7:45. This will be held on the decking next to the boat launch above the docks at The Pines Marina. The 27th Annual Antique & Classic Boat Show will start at 9:00 am and run ‘til 4:30. This is a very relaxed boat show and you may take your boat out on the lake anytime during the show. We love hearing your engines, so fire up your motors throughout the show. Many Thanks to the Bass Lake Lions Club for providing and setting up all the tables, chairs and tents for us to use during the boat show. Please keep in mind that there is a 5 mph speed limit on the lake from Sunset till 8:00 am.
Around 11:00 am we will have our annual boat parade and fly-by. Arnie Schweer really does a great job organizing this fun portion of the boat show where all the boat entries parade past the docks so all the spectators can see and hear all these beautiful Antique & Classic boats under way.
After the boat show, we are planning a very relaxing dinner at The Pines Resort overlooking Bass Lake at 6:00 pm. There is nothing better than having a glass of wine or your favorite cocktail and enjoying an amazing sunset overlooking Bass Lake after dinner with friends and family.
Hope you can join us Sunday morning at 9:00 am for the 16th Annual Chuck Kelly Poker Run. Everyone that wants to participate will meet at The Pines dock’s at 8:30 am. Chuck Kelly and Barbara Walker do a wonderful job organizing this fun poker run. Right after the poker run, the Pines Resort will have an amazing brunch ready for us to enjoy at 10:30 am prior to our announcements of awards and prize winners. Tickets for Dinner and Brunch are available on our Chapter website or using your registration sign-up sheet that you can find Western Wood.
