Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe receives grant from our Chapter

Once again, President Barbara Foster presents an $833.33 check to another deserving 501(c)3…..the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe.

Our President, Barbara Foster reports being honored to present the grant check to the staff and some of the children at the Boys & Girls Club in Kings Beach.  Barbara was accompanied by her husband, Dan, past Board member, Rich Fisher, Board member Nancy Bartolomei and member Franc Casey when she presented the check to the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe on February 17th.  During the school year, kids from 5 – 18 years old benefit from our grant funds used for equipment for Power Hour after school.  With our grant funds, 75 kids get the benefits from having a safe place to go to learn and grow after school.

The Philanthropy Committee accepts grant requests annually in October, reviews them and makes their recommendations to the Board of Directors at the January Planning Meeting.  Along with the two Sea Scout ships, Thunderbird Preservation Society, and Tahoe Maritime Museum, the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe is the most recent recipient of their check.  The last two to receive their checks are Thunderbird Preservation Society and Tahoe Maritime Museum.
