So many events have been cancelled this summer, but fortunately, Tahoe Yacht Club is going to still hold it’s popular Over-the-Bottom for wooden powerboats and they are inviting everyone! If you’re going to be at the lake on August 9th, join the fun! Here’s the press release from TYC:

Each year, the Tahoe Yacht Club (TYC) hosts a Wooden Over-the-Bottom (WOTB) powerboat race the weekend of the Lake Tahoe Concours D’Elegance.  Although that event will not take place this year, the WOTB is still scheduled for Sunday, Aug 9thWe encourage all Lake Tahoe Wooden boats to join us for this event.

TYC’s ‘fleet’ of 25 powerboats that participant in the 2020 Season Series will lead off the event, checking in at 8:30am  with the race starting promptly at 9am.  They will then be at the finish line to welcome all the Wood boats that plan to join us, checking in at 9:30am with a race start time of 10am.

We look forward to a large parade of Wooden boats touring this one hour race course.  The registration fee for all non-OTB series boats is $40 and your spot in history can be reserved by contacting the TYC General Manager, Andrew Casci at 530-581-4700 no later than July 25th .

This on-the-water event will take place on Sunday, August 9th in front of TC Marina, with instructions handed out 8:30 to 9 am and again 9:30 to 10 am. We encourage the wood boats to arrive early to watch the 9 am start.  ALL boats will be starting in 1 minute increments.  After all races have finished, an on-the-water Awards presentation, will take place at approximately 11:30 am.
